FMC has had full-time missionaries in the Philippines for almost 10 years, and it was actually home to Frank and Genie Summers long before they founded Family Missions Company. In Malaybalay, short term missionaries will share the Gospel and serve the poor in various ways. Some hallmarks of the mission trip in Malaybalay are the weekly Bible study founded by our missionaries and well-attended by locals, the jail ministry, and ministry to the sick. Missionaries can also expect work projects and home visits to the poor, handicapped, or homebound. The entire experience is rooted in community and personal prayer, evangelization, Scripture sharing, and tending to the material needs of the poorest of the poor.
A pilgrimage to the Benedictine Monastery of the Transfiguration, home to local monks, and visiting gorgeous natural springs at Nasuli for some holy recreation are blessed additions to the trip!
A “desert day,” a time of prayer and silence with the Lord, is spent near Malaybalay, experiencing some of the natural wonders of the island.
