His Perfect Plan
As I sat in the chapel last week, dense sheets of silently falling white flakes blew past the window, adding layers to the snow-covered scenery of south Louisiana. The largest snowfall in over a century was underway. As I sat there, the Lord led me to remember a day nearly four years before, when I had been visiting a college in Ohio that I had hoped to attend.
There had been a large snowfall the day before, and the scenery had been similarly adorned by a sheet of snow, which had also silenced the surroundings. I fondly recalled entering the chapel nestled on the snowy campus. Despite a wonderful visit, it did not work out for me to attend that college. The Lord had other plans, and looking back over the past four years I can see that they were far better than any that I could have envisioned.
The Lord had led me forth from that first snowy chapel to another college where He faithfully carried me through and brought me closer to Him, to then work with Family Missions Company in Louisiana for two years before inviting me to share the Gospel and minister to those in need as a foreign missionary—fulfilling a long-lasting desire of mine. As I sat there in the snow-covered FMC chapel, I was filled with awe and joyful gratitude at God’s faithfulness and masterful plan in this small part of my life, which reinvigorated me with renewed faith in His perfect plan that is to come.
As the snow has melted, Intake missionary training began to go through a few days of talks learning about and praying for an outpouring and stirring up of the Holy Spirit. Recently, we have returned to our regular formation while also discerning the mission posts to which the Lord is calling us.
Please pray for our discernment process and those we will encounter in the countries we go to!
