John & Penny Geerling
John and Penny began their journey with FMC in 2015, along with their three daughters, Mary, Teresa, and Catherine, who were seven years old at the time. The Geerling family was living in a suburb of Indianapolis when they heard Our Lord calling them to preach the Gospel and serve the poor as missionaries in another country.
After completing their initial training, the Geerling family served in a remote part of Costa Rica for over five years.
After leaving Costa Rica, they served at the FMC home base, Big Woods Mission, helping FMC to teach a discipleship program called Reach More. The Geerlings helped FMC train missionaries serving in various countries as well as missionaries serving stateside.
At the end of October 2023, the Geerling family moved to Trinidad and Tobago in order to begin a new FMC mission post. As in Costa Rica, they are serving in a part of the country that is underserved and not easily accessible.
“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” –John 10:10
